Have your say

What a joy to read the letters praising the Olympic torch celebrations which were organised locally.

Through your column may I thank the organisers of another – smaller but hugely enjoyable – local event?

Spalding Rotary Club held its annual sports day for people with learning disability at the Castle Field on Sunday, July 8.

This has been going on for 20 years now and participants come from Spalding, Skegness, Boston (sometimes Grantham and Bourne too.)

So many people help to organise the events, giving up their Sunday to support the “olympians” taking part.

Medals were presented and your photographer was present to record the victorious winners on the podium.

Then there is tea! You would not find a better variety of sandwiches and cakes at the Ritz – each year it just gets better.

So many thanks to Spalding Rotary Club for bringing such excitement and fun.
