I think it absolutely ridiculous to consider using the Victoria Street car park as a new “green space”.
It is difficult enough to park in Spalding now without losing an ideally placed town centre car park like the one in Victoria Street.
Spalding is desperate for parking spaces as we are constantly reducing on-street parking to taxi ranks that don’t get used and spaces for the disabled, who can park where they like anyway.
No wonder the Eastern Europeans all park on yellow lines in Station Street without penalties as there is no one to enforce the parking laws.
So the council should concentrate on more important things than doing away with an excellent facility. Why not demolish the eyesore that is the old sorting office and build a multi-storey there?
