POLICING: Is tax rise linked to new position?

Have your say

Great news! Our local district council has managed to cut its portion of council tax by 0.3 per cent. Lincolnshire County Council has frozen its share of the council tax for the third year in a row.

But wait. Despite all the cuts in policing, the police precept has increased by almost two per cent. Could this have anything to do with having to fund a police and crime commissioner? I wonder!

Also, we now have a suspended chief constable, no doubt on full pay, with other officers getting temporary promotion with, no doubt, salaries to match.

Let’s hope Mr Hardwick earns his salary and gets things sorted quickly.
