Regarding the “nightmare” scenario reported in the Spalding Guardian about the need to “officially” give public notice to residents and businesses where roadworks will affect them by placing public notices in local newspapers.
Surely the main fact here is that it will be saving the taxpayers in excess of £20million.
The Highways Authorities always put out signs of pending roadworks. Not every motorist/cyclist reads the local papers anyway.
This whole scenareo can be covered by good reporting.
