Was I the only person lucky enough to observe a magnificent bird of prey displaying his power of stealth on Sunday.
At just before midday, banked by glorious blue skies without a hint of cloud, a red kite came into view high in the sky.
He was holding position so well that all his undercarriage of colour was on view.
With outstretched wings, he gently stroked the warm air currents to keep position.
I was selfish not bothering to fetch a camera – I just watched in amazement.
After about 10 minutes, it set a new course and was gone.
