My husband and I were tidying up in our garden on Wednesday morning and happened to see three people clearing the leaves and tidying up the verge between our house and the main road in West Elloe Avenue.
We had a conversation with a very nice lady called Sandra White and her husband Tony and another colleague who informed us they were volunteers trying to tidy up Spalding to make it a better place to live/visit.
Sandra has been doing this sort of voluntary work for about four years and her husband was helping on his day off.
I must say it was inspiring and enlightening to speak to such a switched-on lady who is with help, and the support of Coun Gary Taylor, trying to make Spalding a cleaner and tidier place.
She is to be admired and praised for her efforts and the efforts of her helpers. At the end of the day we can all help Sandra by keeping our own little bit of Spalding clean and tidy.
