AFTER reading your piece “Homes plan refused on road safety fears” (Lincolnshire Free Press, June 7), we feel we must point out that the photograph shown is very misleading.
This photo does not show the lane, it merely shows the field entrance.
As stated in your report, even with the road being widened by the proposed junction into the development, it would still only be 2.6m wide and, at present, it is considerably less.
We live in Horsepit Lane and do not agree with highways officers that this lane would be relatively safe as there are a number of very elderly residents using this lane with Zimmer frames and mobility scooters.
Do we have to wait until there is a fatal accident before we are all agreed it was a mistake?
