Let’s embrace an exciting year ahead

Have your say

I have just returned from a lovely couple of days in my old home town of Spalding over Christmas, visiting family.

Whilst there I learned of plans to develop the Holland Market end of the town centre.

What a great idea I say. Having lived away now for over 30 years it pains me to see how tired and poor Spalding has become compared with the rest of the country.

It is a town centre cut in two with Holland Market having never properly integrated into the old town.

Anything that can be done to make this connection better should be much applauded.

I also read some letters in your paper saying that Holland Market was not part of the town centre.

Well, all I can say is that is where almost everyone parks for their town centre trips and also spends significant time and money.

So let’s be positive and embrace an exciting year ahead for Spalding.
