I’m pleased my daughter is going to secondary school in September as not only do T-shirts give the “golden children” special recognition it makes it harder for children who are struggling to achieve any of the recognition they deserve.
My daughter has struggled with most of her subjects and does not get any sort of praise, even if for her she does well. She is polite and well mannered, however she has no T-shirt.
Maybe the school should spend more time on those who cannot do instead of putting those who can on pedestals, as those “golden children” rub the T-shirt into the faces of struggling children.
Maybe the school could come up with a fairer way of praising children when they do well?
