AT the West Marsh Road recycling site I often see everyone struggling to cope with queues, apparently caused by the present layout. Its ability to function as a high volume, quick turnaround facility is strangled by the limited number and useability of garden waste containers.
Previously an area the entire length of one side was used solely for garden waste. With active supervision and co-operation, this allowed the speedy unloading of many vehicles simultaneously.
South Holland District Council should accept that the site is a waste disposal facility, not a tourist attraction, and improve it permanently rather than blaming the county council. Also, guarantee that our white goods don’t go to appalling third world recycling sites.
