Spalding’s Oxfam shop is participating in the charity’s Mother Appeal.
This is a three-month campaign, running until Mother’s Day (March 31) to raise as much money as possible to lift lives for good.
The UK Government’s Department for International Development will match-fund £5million of the money which Oxfam raises, including from donated sales, and the money from the DFID will go to support three gender and livelihoods programmes in Bangladesh, Tajikistan, and Zambia.
Members of the local community can help by donating goods or cash to their local shop, or donating goods at drop off points in Marks and Spencer stores.
In addition to the value of donations counting double due to government match-funding, donors who are able to gift-aid donations of goods can also collect complimentary Nectar points.
We will endeavour to publicise more related events during the campaign.
