Appeal once again raised more money

WELL done to Long Sutton and district for its efforts in the 2011 Poppy Appeal.

We have once again surpassed the previous year’s total and still counting. To date £6,221.07 has been raised.

There was a splendid turnout for Armistice Day on November 11 when the shopkeepers acknowledged the minute’s silence and the Montessori Nursery children with their wreath and service by St Mary’s Church.

On the Sunday the ACF, scouts, cubs, guides and brownies all paraded with the veterans and community groups led by the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade and band, when wreaths were laid at the memorial.

The Peele Community College was represented at the service by a student reading Flanders Field. All making it another memorable year.
