Have any of your readers taken their children on a day trip by train to their local seaside resort, Skegness, during the school holidays?
The first train from Spalding leaves just before 9am and arrives at Skegness via Sleaford at 11am. This gives you just four hours to reach the beach, the amusements and eat a meal before you have to race back to get the last connection from Skegness at 3pm, changing once again at Sleaford to arrive back in Spalding at around 5pm.
Why spend money on this upgrade if the rail operator is going to close the line to passengers at 5pm in the summer? It just doesn’t make any sense.
