On behalf of the local branch of UKIP, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those members of the general public who gave us such enthusiastic support during our local leave campaign.
Under the leadership of our excellent chairman, Paul Foyster, the branch made a significant contribution in persuading three out four South Holland residents to vote to leave the European Union.
This was the second best result in the whole country.
We should also be grateful to our MP, John Hayes, and other local Conservatives who took part, once they could see which way the wind was blowing.
This is just the start as our representatives negotiate to extract this country from the EU.
The 17 million people who have just given the political establishment a metaphorical kick up the backside are looking hard at the situation, half expecting to be sold down the river.
We in UKIP are awaiting events with interest and concern.
