On Friday, November 11, the Spalding branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution held its annual race night.

Thanks to some great support, we were delighted to raise £1,062 for the charity.

We would like to thank everyone who supported the event, including those firms and individuals who generously sponsored races.

Special thanks go to Spalding Services and Social Club, which kindly allowed us to use its hall for the event.

Fundraising events such as this are vital if the RNLI is to maintain its rescue services throughout the year.

In 2015, an average of 22 people were rescued by our lifeboats each day, saving many lives.

Although the majority of lifeboat crews are volunteers, the RNLI needs to raise funds to provide equipment and rescue vessels.
