It appears that Broadgate Builders, the construction company building Holland Park Estate that will stretch to south end of Spalding Common, are required to build a relief road from the B1172 Spalding Common to A151 Broadway.
They have submitted alterations (H16-0927-15) to their original planning application asking that the road only be built in stages (conditions 38 & 39).
These stages as stated in condition 1 of their application could take 20 years to complete.
Surely this is an opportunity not to be missed, for the council to insist that the relief road be built first? This would ease the congestion in town brought on by the upgrade of the railway with its long crossing closures and ease access to Broadgate’s sites.
If you agree, write to your councillor and leave a comment on South Holland Planning Applications website.
