POLICE have put out a fresh plea for witnesses who saw a Low Fulney man stabbed in the back in a Spalding street.
The Latvian-speaking 32-year-old, who suffered a collapsed lung, was found slumped against a lamppost close to Double Street’s junction with Herring Lane at about 7.30pm on Saturday, May 14.
Officers investigating the incident say the man had been drinking and was unable to describe his attackers or say when the assault happened.
Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen the victim and are keen to trace the drivers of a white BMW 1 series coupe with a black soft top and a dark coloured Renault Clio.
The BMW stopped outside the Poacher at about 7.20pm that night and the Clio, known to be the model prior to the current one, stopped at the same time at the junction of Herring Lane.
The stabbed man was wearing a black leather jacket and jeans.
Anyone with information should contact DC Nicola Stafford at Spalding Police Station on 0300 111 0300.
