SCORES of worshippers lined bridges, banks and boats at Surfleet Reservoir for the traditional Sea Sunday service.

The service to pray for the safety of seafarers was led by five clergymen, Ian Walters, David Sweeting, Tony Kinnersley, Steve Weatherley-Barton and Maurice Perry, who stood on the footbridge at the centre of the gathering.

Mr Weatherley-Barton, minister at Gosberton Baptist Church, said: “We had quite a substantial group of people who came along and lined the bridges and the banks and those who came along in their boats. It’s quite a traditional event.”
