Tin hats and a tankbrought history to life at Gedney Church End Primary School.

As the end of the school year neared, youngsters enjoyed a Second World War and VE day themed event to round off their lessons on the subject.

As part of their war studies a group of childen enjoyed a visit to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, Cambridgeshire, where they all dressed up as evacuees

For the school event they all donned their wartime costumes again and, as well as the tank in the playground, there were other activities including a cake baking contest and skittles.

The event was organised by the Friends of Gedney School.
