Work has started on a massive makeover to take Spalding’s McDonald’s into the digital age.
Building works and interior changes are being carried out at the Holbeach Road restaurant, which is expected to be closed until November 8.
When work is complete, there will be a bigger interior, with the store slightly extended to cover part of the patio area.
But the main changes for customers will be a fresh new look – along with self-order kiosks and free-to-use tablet devices.
McDonald’s says the extension of the restaurant will allow them to install a new drive-through booth, which will provide a second collection point.
The company explains: “The new fast forward booth will allow for a customer to pull forward to a third booth, if there is a small delay in the order, rather than driving through to the grill bays. This allows the traffic to be retained through the drive-through lane.”
