MEMBERS of the Royal British Legion women’s section yet again lived up to their reputation as top brass in the fancy dress department.
They pulled out all the stops for this year’s January shindig at Holbeach Reading Rooms to raise cash for the Poppy Day Appeal – and the line-up could have walked off the walls of an ancient Egyptian tomb.
Following on from last year’s circus theme, this year’s invite to dress like an Egyptian brought some amazing results.
About 40 members and their friends enjoyed the party, which raised more than £85 through a raffle, entrance and refreshments.
Secretary Pam Sells said: “We seem to dress up better every year!”
l Meetings held third Thursday of the month.
