Police are still investigating after a body was discovered in a field near Market Deeping.

The discovery was made by a dog walker at about 10.40am on Tuesday in a field near Northfield Road.

Officers immediately cordoned off the scene while investigations got underway.

Yesterday police confirmed the body was that of a woman, but released no further details about the victim’s age or identity, saying inquries were continuing to identify her.

A post mortem hs since been carried out but the cause of death is still being treated as unexplained.

Police are now appealing for information from members of the public that could help them with their inquiries.

The area is popular with dog walkers and anyone who saw anything which may help with the investigation into who the woman is or how she died is urged to contact police as soon as possible.,
