WOMEN with winning looks are invited to apply for the Miss Spalding and the Fens title and the chance to go on to even greater things!
The beauty contest for this area was launched last year and the good news is that the winner of the heat will go on to represent the district in the Miss England contest and, if she is lucky enough to win that, the Miss World competition.
Local organiser Ruth Deane is currently encouraging girls aged 17 to 24 to enter the competition – the only stipulation is that entrants must live in Spalding and the Fens or, to accommodate people studying elsewhere, come from this area.
The results will be announced at a ceremony at Loaded nightclub in Spalding in January – the date for which is yet to be confirmed.
The winner can look forward to receiving a bouquet of flowers, a tiara and sash on top of the title of Miss Spalding and the Fens. They will then go on to spend a day at Champney’s Spa, where the Miss England semi-finals are held, and the winner will walk away with thousands of pounds in prizes. Of course, the ultimate prize is a place in the Miss World competition. Ruth says this normally takes place in another part of the world, but is being held in Britain this year.
Entries have to be in by the end of November and should be directed by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone on 07980 733241.
