Cheques are winging their way to four good causes after the winners of the 2013 Flower Parade Window Dressing Competition were presented with their prizes.

Daisies Flower Shop in The Crescent took the crown for its display which showed a variety of old newspapers, photographs and documents to make up a history of Spalding and the flower parade.

Business owner Emma Peake (pictured left) was presented with a trophy and a cheque for £100, which she will donate to Cat’s Protection and the Samaritans.

Lisa Thomas (second from left), of the St Barnabas charity shop in New Road – which came second – and Thomas Howling (second from right), of third placed Fun Junction, also picked up their prizes from Nigel Burch (right), senior economic development officer atSouth Holland Council, which organised the competition.

St Barnabas will benefit from the £50 second place prize and Spalding and District PHAB, will get Fun Junction’s £25 donation.
