Independent businesses in the Crescent Traders’ Association are gearing up for a wild time at next week’s annual Spalding Pumpkin Parade.

Following on from the success of last year’s One Direction window competition, there will be a British Wildlife inspired free competition, with woodland creatures hiding in the shop windows amongst 200 carved and decorated pumpkins.

Competition forms can be collected from the Pumpkin Patch and various shops in The Crescent.

The Lincolnshire Bat Group will display bats, alongside The Owl Conservation Society with owls.

Ruskington Wildlife will also have hedgehogs on display. Spalding Ramblers and The Wildlife Trusts will also hand out information about their activities.

Unique Cottage Studios will run craft activities for children at 24 The Crescent and pumpkin inspired food is available at Bookmark, Amici’s, Sergi’s and George Adams, while Transported Art will be in the street with their food hub cycle.

Activities take place between noon and the start Pumpkin Parade on Friday, October 3, at 6.30pm.

There will be a pumpkin carving evening on Thursday and everyone is welcome to go along.
