A craft and classic car show due to be held in Whaplode Drove later this month has been cancelled, after the show it replaced had also been pulled.
And now the committee behind both events has dissolved, blaming lack of support.
The Whaplode Drove Village and Country Fair Committee was hoping to put on its fifth annual show on July 26.
However, the show was not being adequately supported so the committee – eager to continue fundraising for the Elizabethan Centre – decided to run a craft and car show.
A spokesman said: “It is with deep regret that the (new) event has been cancelled.
“We had been active in making bookings for the event but unfortunately have not received the level of support needed for the event to be a success.
“Not only has the committee decided to cancel the event but has also decided with deep sadness to dissolve.
“Holding such events takes months of planning and organisation and is totally reliant on the commitment of volunteers in the run-up and on the day.
“We thank those that have helped and supported us over the last five years.”
During that time a new roof has been put on the centre, new CCTV equipment installed and other work planned for the continuing upkeep.
