As we move into Summer gear, it is worth remembering that the South Holland Centre is a great source of tourist information.

If you are looking for something to do in the area, perhaps with visitors, or during the school holidays, the Tourist Information point on the ground floor stocks a good variety of leaflets on local and regional events, visitor attractions and accommodation – and we are happy to search for information on other parts of the country or find the contact details of other tourist information offices for you.

As part of this service we also sell tickets for a range of events and activities from the box office. Currently you can buy tickets for two different boat trips. One is the pleasant short trip on Spalding’s famous water taxi, which will ferry you and your friends and family between the town centre and Springfields gardens, enjoying the Welland riverscape along the way.

The other is the RSPB Wash Cruises on the beautiful Boston Belle boat. A number of these day trips take place throughout the summer and early autumn, giving passengers a chance to breathe in some fresh air, spot a huge variety of birdlife in the company of voluntary experts, and experience the natural environment of one of the UK’s most important coastal habitats.

Back on dry land, the South Holland Centre box office (or website) is also the place to go to buy tickets for Bakkavor’s popular Party in the Park on Saturday, July 19, the annual Kustom Kulture Blastoff event at Springfields which takes place over the weekend of August 30 and 31, or a musical treat in the form of a concert by the award-winning Scunthorpe Co-operative Junior Choir at All Saints Church, Holbeach on Saturday, June 28.
