Nativity plays, carols, festive fare and fundraising are just some of the ways young and old have been putting the sparkle into Christmas.

Veteran fundraisers Lorna Webb (90) and her team raised £520 for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance with a sensational seasonal coffee morning in Pinchbeck, which was attended by Santa Claus and around 60 visitors, who snapped up home-baked treats.

Retired teacher Lorna said: “We were quite delighted.”

More than 60 guests were welcomed to the Christmas Community Thank You Buffet at The Deepings School, which gave the school a chance to welcome many businesses, community associations and other partners who work throughout the year in support of the curriculum and students.

School careers and events manager Linda Taylor said: “We have excellent working relationships with many organisations and this event provided an ideal opportunity for us to come together and show our appreciation.”
