PEOPLE in Spalding are a healthy bunch – that’s what the Rotary Club of South Holland saw on Stroke Awareness Day.

Some of the Rotarians took to the street to advertise the fact that, in a national campaign between Rotary and the Stroke Awareness Association, free blood pressure tests were being carried out in the town.

Rotarian Geof Nichols said 250 people came to have their blood pressure tested by Dr Cath Hamblin and other medical staff, and they didn’t need to refer one because of worries about high blood pressure.

“It’s a useful exercise and something we will repeat next year,” said Geof.
