A group of walkers have been rewarded for their journey from Pinchbeck to Spalding and back by raising almost £1,000 for charity.

Julie Grantham of Spalding, her sister-in-law Liz Grantham and several other walkers went on a 10k from Morrisons Supermarket in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association after Julie’s husband Andrew was diagnosed with the condition in February.

The fundraising day also included a tombola and the walkers were both seen off and welcomed back by Andrew who had to give up his job as a lorry driving instructor because of MND which causes muscle weakness.

Julie said: “We’re over the moon with what’s been raised because £950 is a lot of money to get just for a walk and tombola.” Photo (NIKKI GRIFFIN): SG121013-123NG.
