I WANT to recommend a place to take the family for a brilliant and memorable experience for about £40.

Just Wake! is a recently-opened wakeboarding park at Tattershall Lakes, near Coningsby. It’s less than an hour’s drive and brilliant fun whether you’re seven or 70.

Your feet are clamped to a single board and you hold on to a cable which – operated by Just Wake! staff ashore – pulls you along. You’ll soon be up and riding the lake and maybe doing a neat trick or two.

Andrew and Suzi Nightingale gave up office jobs to make a go of this venture and it’s really caught on since its launch last month. They have plans to add a clubhouse soon which will further enhance a great spot in the shadow of Tattershall Castle.

I took my wife Louise and 14-year-old daughter Tia on Sunday and found Suzi to be an accomplished and patient instructor whose only too willing to help you progress at your own pace and get the most out of your booking.

An hour riding pass enabling up to four people to ride the same cable (and believe me 15 minutes will be enough on the first go!) is £20. Wakeboard and wetsuit hire is an extra £5 each person.

The wake park caters for all abilities – none of us had done anything like it before.

We were all completely shattered afterwards – but in a good way! We couldn’t stop talking about it and can’t wait to try it again.
