Farmers in Moulton Seas End are working with the community to address speeding concerns in the village by introducing a 24mph speed limit
Representatives from four farming companies met with villagers at a community panel meeting and agreed the voluntary speed limit for tractors coming through the village which takes effect from today.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “Community panels are all about police, residents and businesses coming together to identify issues of concern and find ways to address them.
“This initiative in Moulton Seas End is a perfect example of how communities can help themselves as speeding in the village had been identified by the panel as one of their priorities.
“We are really grateful to the businesses for their co-operation and commitment to tackling the problem and it would be great to see other businesses coming on board to offer their support.
“The hope is that by local vehicles reducing their speed, traffic passing through Moulton Seas End will also be encouraged to slow down.”
