Visitors (and owls) flock in

Visitors flocked to the Market House in Long Sutton over the weekend where they were greeted with a choice of two exhibitions.

Upstairs the Long Sutton and District Civic Society held its popular display of Sutton Bridge past and present as Part of Heritage Weekend, while downstairs the Market House Photography Group had its work on show.

Wendy Jeffries of the Civic Society said the free event was very well attended and included pictures and documents covering Sutton Bridge plus a display about the 1953 floods.

Angela Reeve, chair of the photography group, said pictures from the the winners of their recent Historic Lincolnshire competition were on show, plus members’ photos of the various field trips they had been on and community events they had covered over the year.

She said there were 165 people through the doors... plus three owls from the Hoots R Us rescue centre in Fleet, who were returning after a photo shoot earlier in the year.
