RESIDENTS are being called upon to have their say on plans for the future of a former gasworks facility in Spalding.
National Grid is holding a public consultation on how it plans to environmentally improve its site in Albion Street.
The work is being done as part of a programme of environmental improvement across its UK portfolio of former gasworks sites.
A consultation event will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) at the IVO Resource and Day Centre on Albion Street from 11am-7.30pm.
Scott Lewis, commercial property manager for National Grid Property, said: “Our Albion Street site had a long history of gas manufacture and storage. While there are only limited National Grid operations on the site today, we do have a statutory obligation to manage the environmental legacy of the site.
“We are keen to explain our programme of soil remediation to the local community and to listen to thoughts on how we can best manage the programme of works to reduce any disturbance on neighbours.”
