The first next-gen console version of the award-winning post-apocalyptic series of games has finally hit – and boy has it been worth the wait.

The first next-gen console version of the award-winning post-apocalyptic series of games has finally hit – and boy has it been worth the wait.

In this iteration of the game – the first console instalment since 2010’s New Vegas – you

enter the nuclear-ravaged world of Boston, Massachusetts, as the sole survivor of Vault 111 after seeing your wife murdered and young child taken.

Fallout 4 offers more of the same mutant, raider and deathclaw-fuelled universe that fanwill know and love, with literally hundreds of hours of Pip Boy-inspired questing, perk-building and weapon-making abilities at your disposal as the lone wanderer.

For those who didn’t subscribe to this role-playing open world previously may again struggle here, but for hardcore fans this is an absolute dream – particularly with the addition of the Power Armour suit and inspirational new crafting options – and will consume die-hards for months.

War . . . war never changes.
