VETERANS from the Parachute Regimental Association gathered in Spalding for their annual St George’s Day service on Monday.

The town’s branch hosted visitors from as far as Newark and Nottingham for the march from St John’s Road into St John’s Church on Hawthorn Bank.

The parade was led by nine standards, including the PRA branches of Spalding and Nottingham, the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment, the Royal British Legion from Spalding, Pinchbeck and Fleet branches, the Merchant Navy Association and 1406 Squadron ATC.

Major (retd) David Allmond said: “This was a really good occasion much enjoyed by those who attended.”
