Tulip Radio talking to South Holland councillor Angela Newton

Coun Angela Newton.
Coun Angela Newton.
Have your say

Angela Newton recently spoke to us about being South Holland’s longest serving district councillor and one time leader of the council as well as being a county councillor, currently spending two or three days a week in Lincoln, having retired from her letting and estate agency business in town.

We spoke of her long-term commitment to the East Midlands in Bloom competition and her resolve to bring the coveted Gold medal back to Spalding, something achieved this year thanks to the work of the committee, helpers and Angela’s dedication. We hope the community will come out in force in 2015 to make Spalding one of the best kept towns the judges see.

Angela and I lamented the casual dropping of litter around the district and applauded the efforts being made to keep on top of this problem. It would seem many people are totally unaware of the impression it gives to visitors to the area.

The saying, ‘If you want to get something done, ask a busy person’ certainly applies to Angela Newton and we wish her all the best in her voluntary work. Angela is now looking for helpers for In Bloom 2015: if you can spare time to tidy or plant call us on 01775 712400 or email admin@tulip-radio.co.uk and we will pass on your details.
