Another lovely day spent in the 1940s at a local re-enactment event.
Every weekend during the summer thousands of 1940s enthusiasts get together to show their period vehicles as well as playing their part as re -enactors.
This involves dressing up in period clothing and amassing as many accoutrements and knick-knacks as possible from the period to deliver that true air of authenticity.
Many people from the current generation are rightly fascinated by these events as witnessed last weekend at Ayscoughfee Hall in Spalding, a memorable event which will grow in future years.
Many local re-enactors travel around from event to event and it was good to see several regulars from the Anglia Motel at the Ramsey 1940s weekend. Many exhibitors from last week’s event in Ayscoughfee were there displaying their exhibits and sharing their knowledge with everyone.
The Anglia Motel has some more exciting events coming up: on September 2, 3 and 4 it holds another Country &Western event and on September 8, 9, 10 and 11 is the exciting POW WOW with amazing exhibits and lots of fun throughout the whole week end.
