The spirt of adventure is behind three women from Bourne who are preparing for a 70-mile charity walk and camping trip in two weeks’ time.

Workmates Holly Aspinall (26), Claire Morris (27) and Lynn Wright (40) hope to raise at least £1,000 for Cancer Research UK by taking a four-day challenge of walking along the Nene Way from Badby in Northamptonshire to Wansford, near Peterborough.

They will be setting off with rucksacks on September 18 and plan to walk at least 16 miles a day before sleeping in tents at night.

Claire said: “We did an 18-mile walk in a day, just for the fun of it, last October and we had quite a few people who asked us why we didn’t do it for charity so the idea has come from that.

“Holly and Lynn have both lost people close to them through cancer and we know that Cancer Research UK is close to many people’s hearts because a lot of family and friends are sponsoring us.

“We’ve broken each day down into stages so we know what we’re doing.”
