Generous people in Spalding now have even more places where they can donate towards our Christmas Foodbank Appeal thanks to a town centre travel firm.
Manager Suzy Bulmer and staff at Spalding Travel are inviting shoppers to bring their donations for people in need to their office on Swan Street.
Agapecare Foodbank team leader Irene Davies and Pastor Chas Sandhu from The Lighthouse Church, Spalding, were joined by youngsters and children’s character Igglepiggle from the popular TV show In The Night Garden to officially open the new collection point.
Suzy said: “Spalding Travel is very much a part of the local community and we wanted to add our contribution to the Christmas Foodbank Appeal.
“With our location in the town and so many supportive people here, we thought it would be a good thing if we chose to support the appeal.”
Mr Sandhu said: “We’re very pleased that people are taking on board a concern for our community by providing food for those who are in crisis and an extra collection point in Spalding is a great way of doing this.
“We’re very grateful to Spalding Travel for their support of Agapecare Foodbank as every little bit will help those from our community who may find themselves in need this Christmas.”
