Police said this morning (Thursday) that no one was injured in crashes on the A17 yesterday teatime when the road was closed for a spell after debris was left on the carriageway.

There was one accident at 4.15pm and a second just before 5pm.

A police spokesman said: “Fortunately, neither involved injuries and the vehicles were recovered quite swiftly.”

• We’ve heard in the last few minutes that traffic is now moving slowly following an earlier accident on the A17 at Holbeach.

• The A17 is shut in both directions at Holbeach this evening (Wednesday, December 9) after a collision which has left debris on the carriageway.

The road is shut between Fleet Hargate and Saracen’s Head.

There also reports of a second accident between Lodge Farm Café and Holbeach.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
