Two to hospital after car crash

A HOLBEACH man is in hospital with serious injuries after an accident at Pinchbeck on Saturday night.

The crash, which involved a purple Ford Fiesta and a blue Volkswagen Golf, happened at 9pm on Spalding Road.

The 24-year-old, who was in the back of the Fiesta, was taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital and has since been transferred to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.

The Fiesta driver, a 24-year-old man from Bourne, was also hurt and remains in Pilgrim Hospital.

He was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving. He is not currently under arrest but is expected to be re-arrested upon release from hospital.

Three other male passengers, two aged 24 and one 23, all from Spalding, received minor injuries.

The driver of the Golf, a 29-year-old woman from Pinchbeck, was not seriously hurt.
