A MIXED response to a consultation on the future of Spalding’s Swan Street means the road will reopen when roadworks finish later this month.
Residents and businesses near to the town centre street had been asked their views about permanently closing the road after suggestions traffic had flowed better during the roadworks.
But as a result of the responses received, it will now reopen in mid-December following completion of the ongoing sewer repairs.
Lincolnshire County Council’s area highways manager Jonathan Pearson said: “We now plan to carry out some traffic counts and further analysis on traffic movements in the area in the New Year.
“This work will involve consultation and applying for an experimental short-term closure of Swan Street that will allow the actual impact on traffic flows to be measured.”
