UPDATE FRIDAY 10am: An appeal for witnesses who saw a collision involving two cars near Spalding town centre has been launched by police.

A silver Ford Ka and a red Hyundai I10 collided at the junction of Winsover Road and St Thomas’s Road at about 2.35pm on Wednesday.

No one was hurt but anyone with information should call PC Pete Holland at Spalding Police Station on 101, quoting incident number 248 of June 5.

Meanwhile, more details have emerged about delays on the A16 just outside Spalding also on Wednesday because of a broken down lorry.

A DAF articulated lorry had to be recovered after breaking down near McDonalds Roundabout at about 3.30pm and the road was finally cleared just before 6pm.

WEDNESDAY 4.30pm: Police were called to a collision involving two cars near Spalding town centre this afternoon.

A Ford Ka collided with a Hyundai on Winsover Road just after 2.45pm but there were no reports on any injuries.

Meanwhile, drivers are facing rush-hour delays on the A16 just outside Spalding where the road is partially blocked because of a broken-down lorry and delays are expected in the area of the A151 Holbeach Road roundabout.
