MOTORISTS are being promised that disruption will be kept to a minimum while reconstruction and resurfacing work are carried out on a busy road.
Repairs to the A1101 Wisbech Road and A17 will begin on Monday and will last for nine days, but the majority of work will be carried out between 7pm and 7am.
The section of Wisbech Road north of the roundabout will be closed for three nights between October 26 and 28.
There will be temporary signals and a convoy system in operation for the remainder of the work, although some work will be carried out during the day on November 1 and 2.
Senior engineer for Lincolnshire County Council Mark Curtis said: “This work is being carried out to help ensure the road is safe for drivers to use and most of it will take place at night to keep disruption to a minimum.
“Please be aware that the roads may not be gritted because the roads could be closed while the gritters are out at night.
“Also, depending on what stage the work is at, we can’t risk any salt getting into the new road surface as it can cause problems.
“Do take extra care and always drive to the conditions.”
Alternative routes will be signposted.
