FOUR separate lots of work will keep a South Holland road shut for almost two months.
The B1165 Raven’s Bank at Holbeach Fen is due to close from October 10 to November 30 - with highways bosses saying they have planned different work to take place at the same time to minimise the disruption to motorists.
The road will be closed from Saturday Bridge at the junction with the B1168 to Jarvis Gate, the B1390, at Sutton St James.
The work to be carried out during the seven weeks is:
• Anglian Water diverting a main drain
• Lincolnshire County Council’s Highways South Division will rebuild the road following drought damage and movement alongside the South Holland Main Drain
• South Holland Internal Drainage Board is stabilising the bank along Raven’s Bank
• Lincolnshire County Council’s Technical Services Partnership is rebuilding the bridge deck on Raven’s Gate Bridge.
Diversions will be in place along the B1168 to Holbeach, the A17 and the B1390 and vice versa.
As well as that extra work will take place in Sutton St James itself.
During the week beginning October 24, the school half term break, resurfacing will take place in Fishergate, Chapelgate and Bell’s Drove in Sutton St James will be closed for resurfacing. The same diversions are in place.
Senior highways officer Sue Cooper said: “Detailed planning and co-ordination between the different partners involved means this work can be carried out at the same time – keeping disruption to an absolute minimum for motorists.”
