UPDATE TUESDAY 11AM: Police have confirmed that a 20-year-old man injured in a collision between a moped and a truck on the A17 in Fleet has suffered leg fractures.

A Qingqi 125cc moped ridden by the injured man from Cambridgeshire and a Isuza 4x4 truck collided at the junction of Lowgate and Washway Road at about 4.10pm on Friday.

Paramedics treated the moped rider at the scene before he was taken to Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, and the road was closed for about an hour.

FRIDAY 5.15PM: A 20-year-old man has been taken to hospital after a crash between a motorcycle and truck on the A17 in Fleet today.

The man was riding a Quinqi 125cc bike when it collided with a silver Isuza pick-up truck at the juntion of Lowgate and Washway Road at about 4.10pm.

Paramedics treated the man for a leg injury before being taken to an as yet unnamed hospital, but he isn’t thought to be in a life-threatening condition.

Police have closed a section of the A17 where the crash happened in both directions, with traffic being diverted through Fleet Hargate.
