A car rental firm in Spalding wants to show its community spirit by offering some time to the area.

Branch manager Amy Brereton and staff at Enterprise Rent-a-Car in West Elloe Avenue are volunteering their services to schools, voluntary groups and charitable organisations in the area as part of the business’s commitment to being good citizens.

The branch opened about four months ago and caters for both private and commercial customers from an area between Long Sutton and Bourne.

Amy, originally from Deeping St James and a former student at The Deepings School, said: “Opening a new business is always going to be a challenge because you have to get the word out that you’re here to serve people.

“But we’ve had a great response from all the local businesses and we’ve been able to set up new accounts for food businesses in the area that we can help with their rental car needs.”

Spalding is one of five branches across south Lincolnshire, west Cambridgeshire and West Norfolk, the others being Boston, Grantham, King’s Lynn and Peterborough.

Tim Hinton, area manager for all five branches, said: “Enterprise is a family-run, private company and Spalding is centrally located for our area.

“One of our founding values is one community at a time which means that we want to give up some of our own time to help out in the Spalding community.

“We want to grow the business and become profitable, but Enterprise is more about putting our employees, customers and community first.”
