DRIVERS are being asked to stick to official diversions while roadworks take place on the A17 and A1121 at Swineshead Bridge and Bicker Bar.
Highways officer Alan Spinks said 95 per cent of motorists have been making their own way around the works causing chaos between the A52 at Kirton Home and Hubbert’s Bridge.
He said traffic shouldn’t be using the B1192, but sticking to the A1121 to link up to the A52.
The A17 reopened on Tuesday, with a 20mph speed limit in place, but will close again at 7pm tonight to allow for sweeping, road marking and cats eyes replacements.
The road is expected to be fully open again at 7am tomorrow.
Surface dressing is also taking place on the A1121 between Swineshead Bridge and Hubbert’s Bridge today.
