A seven-year-old boy seriously injured after a collision involving a car in Tydd Gote has died, it has been confirmed today.

Seth Dixon, a pupil at Tydd St Mary Primary School, died on Friday, exactly two weeks after he was knocked down by a car in Station Road, Tydd Gote, close to his home.

The boy was hit by a green Ford Mondeo, driven by a motorist from the Wisbech area, on Friday December 5 and then airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, where he is was under sedation while his injuries were being treated.

An inquest is expected to be opened in the New Year and a police investigation into the circumstances of the collision is still continuing.
